Joe is a founding partner of DT Capital Partners. Joe invested in Wuxi SunTech Power (NYSE: STP), China Ming Yang Wind Power (NYSE:MY), Luckypai (acquired by Lotte Group), MeMeStar (acquired by Nasdaq:SINA and became Sina Mobile). Joe acted as the former Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director at DragonTech Ventures. Prior to that, Joe was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan, mainly responsible for corporate finance and M&A in greater China. He also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in the US.

Joe received an MBA degree from the Wharton School and Master and Bachelor degrees in engineering from Bradley University and Chongqing University respectively.

Joe was named to the Forbes China Midas List in 2008,2009,2010&2011, “Top 10 Most Influential PE Investor” at the China International High-Tech Expo in 2007, "China's Top 10 Media Investors" at China Media Investment Annual Conference in 2007 and 2008, “Top 10 Investment Manager” by Zero2IPO in 2002. He was elected as Chairman of China SME Equity Financing Alliance "(SEFA)" in 2010.
